- First video taking the tank 300 out to Glass House Mountains.
One of the vehicles is completely standard vs our slightly modified one.
We also brought the GWM Cannon out a s a recovery vehicle however the tank had to recover th Cannon 😂

The GWM Tank 300 Border edition is so much tougher than this regular model, it is a reliable and a good looking off-roader, hope GWM Australia can import the Border edition.

A two inch lift and 33" M/T's and that's going to be unstoppable. What a weapon. Reliability for the Tank 300 still remains to be seen but if people can get passed their anti China bias then this thing will sell hand over fist.
Hopefully they figure out how to make the rear wheels stay on yhe ground.

Yep we scanned the car 4 weeks ago. Will be air freighted this week for test fitting. Then ADR testing and release in September.

Honestly even in China this car has been out for 4-5years, but due to off road environment difference, there are NONE rear bar with swing jerry/tyre carriers in the market. Even I can get most of the mod from China, but all the rear bar works are like Jeep thing, they do have one for spare wheel swing but that is. I want due jerry cans module even put 4 jerry at the back both side would be great! Will keep an eye on you guys! Good work!

Seems the youtubers are being bought by China. Not one of them have mentioned how the rear wheels lift of the ground when breaking.
Australia need to change their rules to remove ELK by default. It's dangerous. I agree not having a button to switch off emergency assistance on Haval H6 is same issue.

Great video guys - I’m very impressed with tank 300 , noticed the fog lights turning on and off a lot and either left or right coming on ( not both ) is there any known reason for this .
Lots of cars have this lighting feature. It's cornering lighting when turning.

GWM Tank 300 exhibits cost-cutting measures in the construction. Flimsy wiring under the backseat and disorganised wiring in the engine bay leave much to be desired. Also, GWM has not problems to drastically reduce pricing to current models to make way for the new models, thereby reducing your resale value by, as in my case, 40% overnight.

They are for a different audience being so much smaller and old school; basically still a 90's-00's design with the minimum tech to meet adr. Just a shame their popularity has seen their price go a little high.
The tanks actual compertition being the wrangler, fortuner, Everest, ect it seems to stand its own ground well. Personally keen to see if the hybrid comes out and has power out functions as well as a good improvement to that fuel use.

Lol the reason is all these Japanese cars are ripping there customers off. Come on 40k+ 4 speed auto with a crash rating of 3 back in 2018 😲. When the Chinese did this they got ripped apart now all there cars are coming with 5 star lol.

Also the hybrid is for power not really for efficiency. Different to Toyota as they are for efficiency and have CVT.
Yeah apples to oranges comparing the Jimny lol it is quite literally in a class of its own today. Literally nobody makes a 4x4 that small these days but maybe that will change with the 4th gen Jimnys huge success, would be fun to see some competition in its class.
I paid $27k in 2020 for my new Jimny. Its had a few small price increases since its Australian launch in 2019, I think mostly just to catch up with the crazy inflation rises recently though.
$27,000 AUD in 2020 is worth $31,671.63 in todays money according to an Aussie inflation calculator 🤯
@@SavageTechAustralia well that's a shame that the hybrids not geared for efficiency. A big reason the Toyota hybrids are so efficient is the atkinson cycle engines being 40% thermally efficient compared to 30% is other petrols. The hybrid systems help power boost the lower output high efficiency engines.
Guess I'll just have to test drive one n see when it comes time to bite the bullet.

I'd say with the kind of money they spend on their vehicles they aren't worried about warranty. They will just buy a new one 😅😅

Warranty can only be voided if the aftermarket part is proven to cause a direct cause. Example lift kit is not going to cause engine issues so they can't void that.
And if there is a drivetrain issue it had to be proven to have caused the failure.

How are you going to go getting spare parts?
Go to the dealership or call Savage Tech Australia. As we stock a fair bit of stuff for GWM Cannon example brakes filters body panels etc.
Are your products you fit to the vehicles GWM Approved, and Warranty remains unaffected?

Next tank 300 should have a permanent 4WD high range for normal driving

Yes you can on the rear door. However won't be good long term the additional weight. That's why we are developing rear swing carrier.
